Aside from a great travel backpack or carry on luggage, the only other travel gear you really need when packing for a trip is a bag for your toiletries. Now, this can be as simple as a Ziploc bag or as organized as a well-designed Dopp kit, but the fact remains that you probably need something to hold your soap, comb, and toothbrush.

The question is, what style suits you? If you’re looking for something with just a little segmentation and a lot of space, you might be interested in the Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Quick Trip S. We fit quite a bit inside for our testing period, but how did it work out? That’s what we’re here to find out.
External Components
The Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Quick Trip S is primarily made of recycled 300D polyester and has a diamond-shaped ripstop design for extra durability. We’ve got the Storm Grey colorway, but you can get it in various colorways at the time of writing, ranging from more muted Black to stands-out-from-the-crowd Mandarin and even one print: Roots & Shoots: Duck Green.

Whichever you choose, there are a few design features to mention, starting with the Eagle Creek brand name on the front and a large webbing carry handle on the right side.

The handle is large enough to hold as you carry the bag to the bathroom or pull it out of your bag. When combined with the webbing tabs on the other ends of the zippers, it makes it easy to open and close the bag.
The zippers aren’t from a brand we recognize but work well. They don’t open accidentally on their own, yet they’re not super stiff to pull when you’re trying to grab your travel toothbrush. The metal pulls have cords woven through that make them even easier to grab, which is good for something you may be using when you’re not fully awake.

None of the zippers have any sort of PU coating, but they are reverse-coil models that should prevent most moisture from getting in or out of the bag. That’s true of the fabric, as well; water beads up on the outside if you accidentally splash it, which we’re happy to see in a piece of gear that will spend time next to the sink. It’s not submersible, so we don’t recommend hanging it in the shower, but you’ll have no issue keeping your makeup brushes dry even if your travel companion makes a mess washing their face and the toiletry bag ends up in the splash zone.
However, a mesh pocket on the back will obviously get wet if you have it facing the sink. It’s there so that your toothbrush can dry out en route or you can see what’s inside, but keep in mind that it will be susceptible to spills both inside and out.
Inside The Pouch
The Quick Trip S has three compartments. It’s hard to say which is the “main” compartment, per se, so we’ll just go over all three, and you can decide!

As we mentioned above, there’s a slim mesh pocket on the back of the toiletry bag. It’s a great spot for your toothbrush, toothpaste, and/or razor so they can dry out as you travel. It’s not large enough for much else, but you might also want to stick gear you want to grab en route, like lip balm and hand sanitizer, here for easy access.
The remaining space is divided into two sections, with one slightly larger than the other. The one on the front side of the pouch is smaller yet still quite spacious. It opens with a horseshoe zipper across the top and down the sides of the bag, so you can see quite easily into the entire space. It’s nearly identical to the final section in the middle, but the center section has slightly more capacity.

Since the sections are so similar, you can decide what you want to pack in either. Put liquid-filled travel size bottles on one side and non-liquids on the other, or organize gear by use case. Our tester put makeup in the center area to protect the plastic palette cases and glass bottles. That leads to one potential drawback of the pouch that may or may not bother you: the materials lack any structure or padding to prevent items from getting bumped or squished along the way. On the other hand, that means that it’s easy to pack away when you get home or stash in your backpack if you unpack all of your gear at your Airbnb.

Except for the lack of structural padding, though, we like the open space of the toiletry bag’s design. It means that you don’t have to try to wedge gear into ill-fitting pockets or leave them empty when you don’t have tools or bottles that fit them. The flexibility also allows you to massage the capacity between the three sections, taking more space where you need it from the other spots. Plus, it means that the toiletry bag takes up less space in your travel backpack on trips where you bring less.
